Prague Organ Recitals
The famous Prague Organ Recitals in the Church of St. Francis built by the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star, present a delightful selection of music from the Baroque and Classical periods. Besides the world-famous masters, excellent works of well-known Czech composers are also regularly included in the concert programme. Fanfares, performed by two trumpeters in historic costumes on the steps of the church, welcome the audience half an hour before the concert begins, thus setting the mood for a concert of outstanding artistic quality on the second oldest organ in Prague, from which Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonin Dvorak also drew magnificent tones. Soloists from renowned Prague orchestras accompany the organ recital from the unusual position of the organ gallery at the side of the main altar. The unusual acoustical effects and magnificent architecture make a deep and moving impression on every listener, guaranteeing an unforgettable and unique experience.
